Phase 2 is open to early-stage start-ups, established technology providers, AI developers and research institutions, in any sector with underwater assets. Participants work with real operational data via the Trusted Research Environment, with continuous feedback from operators part of the Compass Advisory Board who co-validate solutions throughout development. This is route to enter the Blue Digital Ecosystem.
Few AI solutions are developed with the operators who will use them, against real operational data, from the first definition of the challenge.
Tide Breaker changes that dynamic.
Inside the programme, you join a live ecosystem where operators co-define the challenge while your solution is co-created and co-validated alongside them. Anchored in a defined workflow, decision and pain point, you gain the opportunity to scale beyond just a demo.
The Trusted Research Environment, co-developed with The Data Lab, provides access to real operational data. The Elementz platform provides the infrastructure through which validated solutions deploy.
Every element of Tide Breaker has been designed to give participants what they need most – access, validation and visibility.
Validated datasets that reflect the complexity of existing operations, giving your models something more meaningful than synthetic examples.
A governed environment, co-developed with The Data Lab, where you develop and integrate your AI solution against operator-defined challenges.
Continuous operator involvement, so your solution is not just tested at the end but shaped from the very beginning.
Visibility with Compass operators and, on graduation, permanent membership of the Blue Digital Ecosystem with a marketplace presence.
The outcome?
Credibility, operator trust and a commercially viable route to deployment.
You’ll enter the Elementz sandbox enviroment against one of the five operator-defined themes – Autonomous Eyes, Intelligent Risk, Predictive Integrity, Discipline Intelligence or Learning System.
From there the work follows four stages: co-define, co-create, co-validate, co-deploy. You develop your solution with real operational data via the Trusted Research Environment, guided by The Data Lab, with feedback from Compass operators from the start.
By the time your solution reaches co-deploy, it has already been validated by the operators who will use it. Each theme matures independently.
Phase 2 is open and intake is rolling. We’re looking for start-ups, established technology providers, AI developers and research institutions with AI solutions for any sector with underwater assets.

Tide Breaker provides a transparent, supportive process that helps you build with purpose and deploy with confidence.
Tide Breaker gives innovators the opportunity to co-create, co-validate and co-deploy alongside the operators who will use what they build.
If you’re ready to turn AI ambition into adoption, and adoption into advantage, this is where the journey starts.
Applications for Phase 2 are now open and intake is rolling. Register your interest against one of the five operator-defined themes and the team will be in touch.
