A Programme Built for Subsea innovation

Accelerating AI adoption at subsea depth and commercial speed.

Innovation in subsea energy thrives when ideas connect with real operations. Tide Breaker makes that connection possible. It’s a structured programme where start-ups, Operators, and partners collaborate to develop, validate, and deploy solutions that perform, not in theory, but in the field.

How the programme works -
from sandbox to deployment.

Tide Breaker turns collaboration into progress. Every stage happens inside a connected digital ecosystem powered on Elementz, where innovators access validated datasets, APIs, and secure sandboxes to build with confidence.

Operators aren’t just observers; they define the challenges, mentor teams, and provide direct feedback as solutions evolve. It’s a live cycle of testing, validation, and improvement, accelerating progress from idea to deployment.

Whether you’re advancing predictive maintenance AI subsea, refining anomaly detection with subsea AI, or developing autonomous inspection, this is where innovation becomes operational.

Programme phases -
from launch to live deployment.

The Tide Breaker programme is built with pace and purpose. Each phase builds momentum, turning ambition into adoption and pilots into proven solutions.

01

Launch & Onboarding

(October – December 2025)

Operators define key challenge themes and start-ups are selected. Teams are onboarded with datasets, APIs, and mentorship, ready to begin development with clear direction and shared purpose.

02

Development & Validation

(January – May 2026)

The engine room of Tide Breaker. Start-ups build and refine solutions in the sandbox enviroment, while Operators validate under live-like conditions. Progress is measurable, practical and fast.

03

Demo & Commercialisation

(June 2026 Onwards)

Validated solutions are showcased not in presentations, but in action. With Elementz providing integration, successful tools move directly into deployment.

What start-ups gain.

For start-ups, Tide Breaker opens doors that are usually closed. It’s an environment built for progress, where access, data, and visibility combine to create real commercial traction.

You’ll work with operational datasets, refine your technology in a secure sandbox enviroment, and receive direct operator feedback throughout.

The result?

A solution that fits real workflows, backed by credibility and ready for deployment.

From anomaly detection to new applications that haven’t yet been imagined, Tide Breaker helps you move faster, with validation built in at every stage.

What operators gain.

Tide Breaker gives operators a smarter way to adopt digital solutions. Instead of evaluating finished tools, you shape their development from day one, ensuring they integrate seamlessly into your systems and workflows.

Through Compass, validation is shared across multiple Operators, creating consistency and confidence in the industry.

Every tool developed through the programme, is tested in realistic conditions, reducing risk and delivering measurable operational improvement.

FAQs

What is the investment or cost for start-ups?

There are no fees to join the programme. Instead, we invest time, data access, and technical infrastructure to help accelerate your technology’s route to market. You bring the innovation, we provide the environment, expertise, and connections to prove it at scale.

Intellectual Property (IP) created during the programme remains with the start-up. Tide Breaker, its partners, and participating Operators do not claim ownership of your technology. Any shared development or integration work will be governed by mutually agreed collaboration terms to protect all parties’ rights and confidentiality.

Each Tide Breaker cohort will include up to 4 start-ups chosen for their potential to deliver impact in subsea energy operations. Selection is based on innovation strength, technical readiness, and alignment with operator-defined challenges. This ensures every participant receives focused support and genuine opportunities for deployment.

Operators play a hands-on role throughout the programme, defining key industry challenges, providing data and operational insight. Their involvement ensures each AI solution is built for real-world application and commercial viability.

Tide Breaker is designed with a hybrid model to enable participation from remote locations, however we strongly encourage tech start-ups from the North East of Scotland to take part. While some in-person sessions and demo events may take place in Aberdeen, remote collaboration, data access, and mentoring are fully supported through our secure digital environment.

If you’re ready to collaborate, co-develop, or simply stay connected to the next wave of subsea innovation, this is your opportunity to join a network turning AI ambition into adoption. And adoption into advantage
